Roeder Failure Cost Sam His Target!

Glenn Roeder's failure last season to even get us into the InterToto has obviously cost the club millions.

And when Sam Allardyce says the pressure on Premiership managers is getting "ridiculous", he could have a point, but the cost of failure is staggering. You only have to look at Leeds United to see what can happen when the money dries up.

As for Dragutinovic? I'm sure he is a good player, but do we need someone as fickle?

It's Champions League or bust, for the man. And we've had horror experiences with the likes of Marcelino and Albert Luque in the past who have arrived from the Spanish league with big reputations and nothing more.

Dragutinovic: "I didn't sign with Newcastle because they don't play Champions League football, the competition that I wanted to play, and also because of our form in the last two years.

"I also spoke to my team-mates and family and decided to stay.

"We are speaking a little but we haven't had time to sit back and talk with the chairman, it could be this week or the next one.

"I am happy at Sevilla as are my family and we are going to see what will happen.

"It will depend on the director's intentions. If we don't find an agreement it will be my last year. I am a professional and I am going to do my work for Sevilla."
