Roeder In The Frame To Be Leicester Manager

Leicester chairman Milan Mandaric, who caused many an upheaval at Fratton Park when he was chairman, claims he had doubts over Martin Allen's ability to lead the Foxes to "the top of the mountain".

Which is why he sacked him after that 4-1 win over promotion favourites Watford.

Allen parted company with the club on Wednesday. He managed for just three games following his appointment.

The club admitted there had been a "breakdown in the relationship" between Allen and Mandaric, believed to have stemmed from differences of opinion over the signing of veteran striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Milan Mandaric: "That was my decision to do it, but I do what is the best for the club.

"It's not the games, it's not the results, it's looking at where I am going to be at the end of the season, not where I'm going to be after three games.

"When you want to go climb on the mountain, it doesn't mean you are always going to go with everyone that started the climb.

"There were certain differences about how to get to the top of the mountain."

Roeder is keen to get back into management, and we hear he would jump at the chance to join the Foxes.
