Newcastle United have struck a deal with Glenn Roeder and the fee has been agreed with Norwich City.
Roeder had a tough job trying to persuade the Carrow Road board to stump up cash for a deal which could eventually be worth £3.5m to the Magpies.
It is a major deal for Roeder because promoted West Brom have also been in touch with the Nigerian-born former England Under-21 striker, who has already rejected moves to Stoke City and Ipswich City.
