Salomon Rondon has posted a defiant message on Instagram - telling his army of followers to 'let them talk' as speculation continues about his future.
The Venezuelan played the last game of his loan spell with Newcastle United last week and scored in the 4-0 win against Fulham at Craven Cottage.
Barely a week into the off season, Rondon is currently preparing for next month's Copa America - which could yet delay the prospect of any deal getting done in the coming weeks.
He said he wanted transfer speculation sorted within the week ... but that won't happen.
Rondon proved a big hit on Tyneside - becoming the first striker since Alan Shearer to win the club's player of the year award - and was directly involved in 19 goals.
The 29-year-old wanted to stay at St James' Park but with Rafa Benitez's future uncertain, amid ongoing talks about a new contract, he has returned to parent club West Brom.
Rondon's age continues to be an issue for Newcastle's hierarchy, who are monitoring younger alternatives on the continent, and any prospect of a permanent deal feels inextricably linked to Benitez signing a new contract.
Regardless, Rondon is now back on the market and ChronicleLive previously reported , in March, that Wolves were admirers. That interest has intensified in the last 24 hours as Nuno looked to bring in a quality back-up for record signing Raul Jimenez.
Responding to the speculation, Rondon posted a photograph of him working out with an exercise ball above his head with the caption: 'Let them talk!!! You stay focus[ed].'
