According to reports today, Glenn Roeder will hand a first start to Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi in the Carling Cup tie with Portsmouth at St James' Park. Yet many of us thought Man Utd insisted the loan deal included he could not be cup-tied in any competition, or play against Sir Alex Ferguson's team.
He has only made four substitute appearances for Newcastle, which has infuriated Ferguson, who agreed to the deal so Rossi could get Premiership experience.
