After initially signing a short-term contract in February that would see Warnock remain at the club until the end of the season, Warnock’s success has seen Rotherham desperate to see Warnock remain at the club.
In a short period of time, Warnock overturned a six-point deficit which eventually succumbed with MK Dons taking the final relegation spot berth and Rotherham eventually finishing with a nine point gap on the relegation places.
This is a particularly impressive feat considering that Warnock had this success without the use of a transfer window to sign any players on a permanent basis.
Warnock’s success has attracted a number of clubs including Newcastle United about potentially taking over their club, and Warnock wanted to take some time out to assess his options however reports suggest that Warnock’s new deal could be finalised by the beginning of next week.
