St Johnstone are set to follow the loan signing of Newcastle's Mehdi Abeid with a deal to take his team-mate Marcus Maddison to McDiarmid Park until the end of the season.
Maddison ,a 19-year-old winger, could conclude his loan move before tonight's deadline but will not travel north to train until Monday, meaning he won't face St Mirren this weekend.
