The report in Tuesday's paper was without an Allardyce quote or back up, but it "suggests" Big Sam wants Emre to leave and the pair will have to wait for the January transfer window for the Turk to move on.
Yesterday Allardyce moved to play down speculation over the immediate future of the Newcastle midfielder.
The Turkey international, currently on Euro 2008 duty with his country, was linked with a return to former club Galatasary at the weekend.
Allardyce told the club's official website: "It's not an issue at the moment.
"There's no chance of him going back to Turkey because the transfer window is shut, so he can't go anywhere."
Emre has made just one appearance under Allardyce, in the 2-0 Carling Cup victory over Barnsley, but Allardyce says the player could play at Pride Park on Monday.
