Pardew hauled off full-back Santon last night – who had been given a torrid time in the first-half – at the break.
Tottenham did what every team has done of late - target the left flank because of the fact Santon is arguably the WORST defender in the Premier League.
Yes, he's pretty going forward, but at the back (which is the priority of his job!) he is absolutely USELESS!
Pardew came out with ANOTHER howler on Tuesday: "Santon is the new Gary Neville, the unsung hero. Perhaps not to the naked eye, but look at the stats."
Look at the 'stats' at how many times he has been skinned in the last two seasons!
Pardew felt Paul Dummett – who replaced Santon – and right-back Mathieu Debuchy were the only two players who left the field with any “credit”.
Asked about Santon’s withdrawal, he said: “I thought we needed a left-footer down that side.
"I thought Dummett did well, actually, when he came on.
"He and Mathieu Debuchy were probably the only two players who came out with any credit, in my opinion.”
