Three changes from Brighton game
Eddie Howe may not be on the bench at St James’ Park today due to his Covid self-isolation but he has named his first Newcastle United starting eleven and the big news is that Fabian Schar returns at the heart of the defence.
The Switzerland international defender had not featured under Steve Bruce since August but returns today under Howe for the visit of Brentford.
Joelinton and Joe Willock also return to the side with Krath, Hayden and Almiron the ones dropping out from the draw at Brighton last time out.
The Magpies start this round of fixtures 5 points adrift of 4th-bottom Watford while Brentford make the trip north having lost their last four Premier League matches.
