The on-loan Newcastle forward scored on his Rangers debut on an otherwise disastrous day as they crashed out of the Scottish Cup to Raith Rovers at Ibrox.
But Vuckic is convinced he and the other four Toon Army loanees can help haul the Light Blues back into the Championship title race once they are all fit and find their feet.
And he is targeting victory against play-off rivals Hibs at Ibrox on Friday night as the start of the comeback as they look to claw back Hearts’ 19-point advantage at the top.
Kenny McDowall’s side have three games in hand over the men in maroon, whom they still have to play twice, and Vuckic is convinced all is not lost in their title bid.
Haris Vuckic: “I was a bit surprised by the occasion against Raith and I just need to step up my game a bit to handle it better. They were quite aggressive and really fought for the ball. That was tough and something I haven’t been as used to playing in England.
“I have to adapt to Scottish football and a new team. I am going to get to know the players better with time.
“I need to be more aggressive, get the ball at my feet, create and score goals. That is my job and if I do that we will be successful.
“We all spoke after the game and said the performance wasn’t good enough.
“We need to step up, move on, start winning games and get the fans back on side – we are determined to be better.
“My first league game is going to be good on Friday. Hibs are third at the moment so we know we need to win then we can push on and chase Hearts with our games in hand.
“Our aim is to win as many matches as possible to get as close to Hearts as we can and that could give us a chance to take it to the last game of the season.”
