The Newcastle United first-team squad have arrived back at the club's Benton Training Centre as pre-season preparations begin.
Academy head of coaching Ben Dawson and Under-23s head coach Neil Redfearn will take charge of training over the coming days, given that the Magpies are still managerless following Rafa Benitez's exit last Sunday, with the search for his successor on-going.
On their first day back, Newcastle players will undergo medical and physical tests, with fitness sessions beginning in the coming days.
There were some familiar first-team players, as well as some forgotten figures, back at Benton on Thursday morning.
The forgotten men are back - and hoping to earn another chance at NUFC.
Newcastle had a whole host of players out on loan last season, but they have returned to the club's Benton Training Centre given that none of them have been sold.
Among them are the likes of Jack Colback, Achraf Lazaar (pictured) and Rolando Aarons, a trio who had no first-team future under Benitez but could yet be handed another chance on Tyneside.
Dwight Gayle, Jacob Murphy and Jamie Sterry are also back for their pre-season assessments - while so too is Rob Elliot, who had been banished to train at the Academy during the final weeks of last term and who was transfer-listed by Benitez in January.
