Nobby Solano knows only too well the pressure is on Alan Shearer to break the Newcastle goalscoring record. The ex-England skipper is now only three goals away from equalling Jackie Milburn's club record of 200, and the Peruvian wants to see it broken ... sooner rather than later.
Nobby Solano: "Alan, I know, is desperate before he retires, to break that record, but he's happy if the team is doing well. Alan is a very good professional. If he can do it at the same time, it would be fantastic, but if not, so be it.
"He knows it's difficult to score goals like he used to do. He's had his hernia problem and he's playing all the time against top-class defenders. But if we can help him to finish on a high note and make the fans happy at the same time, we will try to do it."
