Newcastle pulled off a shock result against the Reds at home on Sunday evening.
The Magpies headed into the Premier League game at St. James’ Park as underdogs, but they registered a 2-0 win.
The performance of Steve McClaren’s side was very encouraging, and Newcastle deserved to win.
Newcastle legend Shearer was understandably pleased with the performance and the final result, but he has expressed his frustrations that the team do not always maintain this high level.
“The frustrating thing is, they have shown they can do it, earlier in the season against Chelsea and now against an in-form Liverpool side,” the former England international has written on Coral.co.uk.
