And Shearer took to social networking site Twitter to poke fun at John Carver.
The last time Newcastle went down to the Championship Shearer was in charge. The Englishman was the manager of the team for the final eight games of the 2008-09 Premier League campaign and they only picked up five points from 24.
But in the last ten games this season Carver has picked up only one point out of 30.
Sheaer said: "Carver is making me look like (legandary Liverpool manager) Bob Paisley!"
On MOTD he said that United’s captain and centre-back Fabricio Coloccini turned his back on the ball, adding: "You don't see John Terry doing that. He wouldn't turn his back he would put his body there."
But Colo isn't the only player to bottle it at dead ball kicks.
When Vernon Anita is in the defensive wall, often ducks! It cost us a goal against Manchester City earlier in the season.
Then Shearer pointed the finger of blame at goalkeeper Tim Krul: "He has had a very poor second half of the season. A poor kick there (clearance from Krul), they lose the tackle (Ryan Taylor), it’s a fantastic striker from Fer and the goalkeeper has no chance but his kick should have been over the halfway line.”
Gary Lineker: ‘Can you see them winning that last game (West Ham)?’
Shearer: “No, how can you, you just can’t see it, with their form you can’t see them winning anything.”
