Is the Toon legend suggesting Mike Ashley picks the signings, like Dennis Wise did for Kevin Keegan?
Keegan walked - Pardew doesn't have the guts to walk!
But Alan Shearer opened a can of worms, going public on football's biggest TV programme, suggesting Pardew has no control over ANYTHING!
Shearer has criticised United's team’s performance so far this year - but defended under the fire manager because he believes Pardew's hands are tied.
Alan Shearer: "That team is not good enough. The whole team was to blame for that defeat at Southampton, not just the manager.
“As a Newcastle fan the club’s performance isn’t good enough.
“I’m a season ticket holder and a fan and I don’t think the club’s been anywhere near good enough since January.
“Newcastle do not look like scoring and do not look like keeping clean sheets.
“That’s a recipe for relegation in anyone’s book and Alan Pardew is now under massive pressure.
“But you can’t blame the manager for everything. I’ve been told he has no say over spending powers at the club.
“How can you manage a football club effectively with these kinds of restraints?
“The players are on the pitch and they’re not without blame.
“When I played for Newcastle I put my heart and soul into it. Because it mattered to me. The club matters to me.
“There isn’t enough talent coming through in the North East and that’s a problem felt across the country.
“We need to be doing more to encourage home-grown talent.
“I don’t want to be involved with the club like that.
“I’m busy with my broadcasting duties and charity work. What goes on at Newcastle United is none of my business.
“But I’m a fan and I want Newcastle to be the best, as any fan would.”
