According to the Sunday Telegraph, chairman Freddy Shepherd would gladly sell the club if the company interested in buying - the Belgravia Group - up their offer by another £9m.
The Jersey-based investment group are set to make a fresh offer having seen the latest bid knocked back.
Sir John Hall owns 28.8% of the club; Douglas Hall 12%; Freddy Shepherd 28%. The club is valued at £91million and Shepherd will reportedly only accept an offer of more than £100million.
The newspaper quotes an executive close to the negotiations as saying: "Talks are ongoing and there seems to be every chance of a deal being struck."
