The former Newcastle and England manager Sir Bobby Robson, who is 74-years-old, has been working with the Republic of Ireland as a football consultant since January 2006, when Steve Staunton was named as the successor to Brian Kerr.
Sir Bobby Steps Out Of The Rat Race!
Staunton was relieved of his post last month after a disappointing Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, and Robson will bow out after the game.
Robson revealed in May that he had been diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time in 15 years and he concedes that the illness could get in the way of him accepting another job in the game.
Sir Bobby: "I'm stepping down because of Stan (Staunton). The chances are I won't get back on the pitch again, but I've got my head still and my enthusiasm.
"It depends on my health - I miss the game immensely and getting on the pitch.
"I've enjoyed the last two years - I just wish I could have done more than I have done.
"But my health took a downward turn a year ago and I've just been recovering from that."
As well as his work with England, Ireland and Newcastle, Robson also enjoyed successful stints at Ipswich, PSV Eindhoven, Sporting Lisbon, Porto and Barcelona.
