Sissoko was part of the team that drew 2-2 with Chelsea at St James’ Park.
The French international has came under-fire after a string of ineffective displays but insists that Newcastle WILL turn things around this season.
Speaking in Newcastle’s match day programme, Sissoko said: “I don’t watch the television or read the newspapers - we know what the team need to do.
“People will write things and say things, and that’s fine. But in my mind the most important thing is me and my team.
“I understand the fans’ frustrations. They are behind us - and just like us - they want to win every game. Our performances against Watford and West Ham were not good enough and when that happens, people will get frustrated.
“Every game we go out there and try to do the best we can but sometimes you don’t win.
“That is football.
“There is still a long way to go this season and we will show much more as it goes on.”
