"Every time I cross the white line, I'll give 100 per cent and everybody knows that. I don't think fans were having a go at players too much, the fans just want to do well so badly.
"We're the ones who can turn it round, and we can't blame fans too much for being disappointed. The fans went there with expectations high, looking for a big performance, and it didn't happen.
"It's not nice, because you want your fans behind you, but we must put that right.
"I think most of the lads are just desperate to put things right.
"The manner of the defeat upset people. It was the nature of the game. If it's a scrappy game, people don't mind. If you lose by the odd goal in five, people don't mind, but it was the manner of defeat.
"That's what upset people.
"We have to be brave enough to go out again at St James's Park or Ewood Park and put that right. We need to play with pride and passion."
