Clark: "The lads have set their own standards and goals with such a long unbeaten home run, but they did not reach them.
"We were out-fought, out-thought and out-played against Boro in every department and I think they could have had five or six goals in the end. There were a few harsh words said to the lads afterwards.
"At the end of the day we are here trying to get them on the road to a career in professional football at this club. If they don't make it here then we want to at least help them get a career elsewhere in the Football League.
"At the moment there are injuries in the first team and there are chances for the younger players. But they won't have a chance with performances like that."
Carl Finnigan scored from a penalty on 24 minutes. Boro scored a minute before the interval through Tom Craddock. Craddock made it 2-1 with eight minutes to go and the score was complete when shot rebounded in off Chris Shanks late in the game.
