The Peruvian was not even included in the squads for the last two games, despite Big Sam saying he has a major problem with the right-back spot ... a position Solano made his own under Glenn Roeder.
Roeder suffered a poor season last term, but Solano was without question the success story of the campaign.
However, Allardyce is very reluctant to play the Peruvian, which is a big surprise to many Newcastle fans.
The majority of the Toon Army see Stephen Carr ar the weak link in the side, and now he is out for up to six weeks, Sam says Solano could get his chance.
Allardyce: "The position we are in now because of injuries I need to bring in two new faces, and I won't be letting anyone leave".
West Ham, it has to be said, have been slow on the uptake considering three weeks ago they looked set to offer Nobby a new life in the capital ... where he wants to go.
But some believe they are waiting until the last moment of the transfer window to make their move.
That, however, seems to be 'no go' now.
