... they need a Sheikh to save them from the Glazers and lift them from their gloom.
The legend - Sheikh Mansour
Fred Done: “It breaks my heart.
“They’re (Glazers) sat in Florida while 70,000 who love the club are paying for their debt and dividends and are not seeing a good team. We’re watching rubbish.
“It’s purely a financial instrument for the Glazers. When the right cheque is waved at them they will go.”
So, the mighty Man Utd are suffering the same way Newcastle United have been since Mike Ashley walked into St James' Park.
Ashley has the money ... £2.6billion (if you believe the media) ... but it is not going anywhere near Newcastle.
The reason why he continues to continue his Civil War with the Newcastle fans is simple - NOBODY WILL BUY HIM OUT!
He's stuck with us - we are stuck with him!
The loser - Mike Ashley
Money can buy you a lot of things; cars, jewellery and fancy clothes. But can it buy trophies?
On Sunday 2 March, City took the Capital One Cup back to Manchester, and deservedly so.
But trophies haven’t exactly been rolling in since Sheikh Mansour and his Abu Dhabi consortium took over at the Etihad in 2008.
An FA Cup in 2011, a Premier League title in 2012 and a Community Shield have not exactly been the return the Manchester City ownership would have expected with the level of financial support given.
A League Cup certainly doesn’t immediately answer this question, but City want to reap the rewards for their investments and on Sunday they proved that what they are doing is working.
At Newcastle we are keeping our head above water, but Ashley could be a genuine LEGEND if only he took his head out of his arse.
He cannot take his billions with him to the grave, and regardless HOW MUCH MONEY HE HAS, he is going to go down in history as a loser, a hated man, and that is very sad.
Buying a football club was for his ego, nothing more or less. To make him famous.
But it's backfired - and he is now famous for all the wrong reasons.
And that will be seen as pure GREED!
