If you believe what they print in the Daily Mirror, Greek club Panathinaikos are set to name Graeme Souness as their new manager.
Souness is seen as the ideal successor to Hans Backe, who left the Greek club last month. But Souness will have to understand "second" is not good enough, as Backe was sacked despite getting the club to second in the league.
Souness already has experience of managing abroad, having managed Galatasary, Benfica and a short stint as head coach of Torino in Italy.
Souness turned down Crystal Palace in June as he did not want to disrupt his family, so it will be interesting to see if this new job offer interests him. I'm sure the Toon Army won't see Greece as far enough away from St James' Park!
