The Welshman played for Leeds in the long forgotten days when Howard Wilkinson was a good enough manager for his team to win the title and is desperate to repeat our success of the last two seasons at Elland Road.
"Every time we have played in the Champions League this season we have picked up a great result afterwards," Speed told the Evening Chronicle.
"In fact, we have won seven of the eight Premiership games immediately after being on Champions League duty.
"And if my memory serves me right the only time we have not won was after being in Barcelona and we came back and drew at Southampton which in itself was still a good result.
"Really this bucks the trend and it shows just how fit we are and what great resolve we have at the club these days.
"Now we have had a good trip and a great result in Germany this week and hopefully we can do what we normally do after a Champions League game.
"But it won't be easy despite all the problems Leeds have had and I believe we are in for a tough game.
"We don't want anybody doing the double over us and we're going to Elland Road knowing we must improve our away form.
"We have still only won three away games and we must do better if we are to keep in touch at the top of the Premiership."
