TOTTENHAM REPORT ON TOON BOOING:-
If you weren't listening too closely it sounded like the whole ground was singing the 'Mauricio Pochettino, he's magic you know' chant, but upon closer inspection that was anything but the truth.
Almost the entirety of St James Park was actually bellowing 'Nobody wants Sissoko, he's magic you know'. The Spurs fans, despite many of them having similar feelings, responded with the Dele Alli chant in an attempt to hit back with some noise.
The Frenchman was hounded at his every touch and he didn't exactly put in a performance to silence anyone.
Poor old Moussa Sissoko. As if being chanted at for most of the game, booed with every touch and not really putting in a very good performance to boot wasn't enough, the Frenchman was also on the end of potentially the loudest boo ever heard in St James Park on his return to the stadium.
The board went up on 58 minutes to signal Sissoko was being replaced by Heung-Min Son. It also signalled more than 50,000 people booing in unison.
It was near deafening and amid the cauldron of noise Sissoko seemed taken aback at first before clapping towards the Spurs fans up in the gods in the vertigo-inducing away fans section.
That the player had the temerity to do anything other than walk off the pitch with his head hung low only enraged the home support further.
Fans around the press box - and no doubt elsewhere - rose to their feet and started hurling every obscenity they could think of at the Frenchman. You'd think they'd be happy they got £30m for him.
