Thousands of tributes of flowers, shirts, scarves and banners have been left at the ground, which was due to close to fans today.
But the club has said the stadium will now remain open over the weekend.
A spokesman said: "St James's Park will remain open this weekend for fans wishing to pay their tributes to Sir Bobby Robson.
"Thousands of supporters have continued to leave flowers, scarves, shirts and flags at the Leazes End this week in memory of the black-and-white icon.
"Access to the stadium is via the north west tunnel and condolence books are available to sign in the Old Milburn reception."
The stadium will be open between 9am and 5pm tomorrow and Sunday.
