"Steve Bruce do youself a favour and the sunderland fans a favour and leave , you realy dont have a clue and your track record proves it,even when the camera was focused on you yesterday it looked as if you ran out of options to me and most of the fans it seems you have . & Mr chairman if you want to bring success to the club and finish in the top ten or even realy have a sniff at Europe and stay on course of this 5 year plan, then sort it no question!! get a manager in thats going to do the buisness, because the last manager and the current one are surley not good enough, and that tells me your not doing your job as a Premiership chairman or chairman of sunderland football club."
Geordie-born Steve Bruce admits Sunderland are in danger of being sucked into a relegation battle after seeing his side spanked 5-0 at Manchester City.
Steve Bruce: “We haven’t got enough points in the bag yet, not when you see the table.
“We’re only six points above the bottom three with seven games to go.
“We’re on a horrific run – we’ve played most of the top six on that run, but we have found it very, very difficult with a half-fit squad.
“From here on, we’ve now got some winnable games – including the bottom three and a couple of other sides in the bottom half – and it is up to us to get the points we need.
“From start to finish, it was brutal for us. We were second-best from the moment we started and we got what we deserved, which was nothing – and our backsides well and truly kicked.
“When you come here, you have to play well. You all have to play well, and yesterday two or three were OK, but the rest I have no excuse for – they simply weren’t good enough on the day.
“We’ve lost that cutting edge we have had and at the moment that is a bit of a worry.
“The last seven games have been very difficult and we haven’t managed to win any of them – we’ve only taken one point.
“We’ve got to get back the resilience we showed earlier in the season when we looked like a good team.
“We have to get back to those standards, because at the moment we are nowhere near.”
