Nathan Jones has addressed the speculation that Stoke City could make a move for Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle.
Stoke have been linked with the 28 year old who scored 24 goals last season while on loan in the Championship at West Brom.
The Stoke manager was asked to put fans in the picture by reporter Lee Blakeman during an interview on BBC Radio Stoke this evening.
Asked what he could say about Gayle, Jones said: "Only that he is a fantastic footballer and he is a Newcastle United player.
"We have some good strikers at the club. Dwight is a fantastic one and he is a real marquee signing at this level.
"He is a Newcastle player. He is someone we like because he is a very talented individual and when he plays at this level he usually scores goals. But anything else would be wrong of me to mention."
But the bottom line is ... Stoke don't have the money to pay the player's wages ... never mind the transfer deal.
