Sven Not Interested?
Parker: "I feel as though I have been performing well and I feel I have been performing consistently but the call hasn't come yet and time is running out.
"I'm pretty honest with myself and I think it is very unlikely that I will be at the World Cup this summer. Players can tend to sneak in at the end of the season but I don't know if I will. It's nice to play well in front of the England manager and if anything comes of it, it will be brilliant. But it's not at the forefront of my mind because there's not a lot I can do about it.
"If I don't get back in, I will be disappointed like I am every time I don't get in the squad. But I have to be realistic and admit that it doesn't look as though it's going to happen.
"All I'm concerned with now is Newcastle and playing well for the club. The managerial situation is not affecting us. When you're a player, you just try to get on with things and it's something you don't think about.
"This often happens when a manager loses his job and we have to make sure we can keep it going. We have a great bunch of lads and we all know what we have to do. We can look upwards now. I hope now we can really kick on and get some more good results now," he said.
