Swede Tells Roeder To Forget Any Interest

Ljungberg is surprisingly well down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium this season, but he still has one year on his Arsenal contract and he wants to see it out.

With Emre's future at Newcastle looking unsettled and the Turk's agent making noises about a move back to Italy for his client, Roeder sees 29-year Ljungberg as one of his summer transfer targets.

Ljungberg: "I think in the January window it is a silly season, there are always rumours.

"The boss said what had to be said. For me that is the end of the story.

"I have been here nine years, so I am quite happy with the situation.

"We have a successful team. I would not really want to play anywhere else."
