Curbishley claims nothing he does will please West Ham fans at the moment - but he will not shirk the challenge of winning them over.
Having completed the full list of 92 grounds, I think I know the good supporters from the bad, and West Ham fans (like ourselves) have had a lot to put up with ... mainly bad.
They are - in MY opinion - the most loyal of the London supporters, having to contend with the Gloryseekers who cling onto Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs, and I have always had the utmost respect for them.
They have not taken to the ex-Charlton manager, and in my own opinion I don't think they ever will. The man is full of self-praise, and is full of 'wind and piss', and he is desperate to be loved.
However, the Hammers fans turned on Curbishley again last week against Derby when he took off youngster Freddie Sears for Carlton Cole and the boos continued at the final whistle even after the substitute scored the winner.
Curbishley: "Whatever I (would have) done, they would not have been amused. It seemed a bit pre-meditated.
"That is the way that it is at the moment - there is no use crying about it at the moment.
"Sometimes games pan out a little bit different from what you expect but my philosophy is winning games. You have got to win games.
"Whatever happened on Saturday I have not been subject to before.
"I don't think that many people have. Winning 2-1 at home and getting booed.
"But it is there and I have to get on with it. It is not going to stop me wanting to be as successful as I can and I think that West Ham throughout the years has been a bit volatile, the crowd, whoever has been in charge."
Take warning Mr Curbishley ... NEVER turn on the crowd ... because at the end of the day it is the supporters who decide who stays and who goes.
