"And even though he has played over 60 games he is still very young and, at 21, still has much to learn.
"But I am confident he will learn and he can still only get better.
"Let's get one thing straight, Steven Taylor doesn't need me to tell him how to defend.
"He has two great students of the game in Big Sam and Nigel Pearson there to do it for him.
"I hope he stays positive and looks at this as more of a challenge rather than a problem.
"He doesn't need to be told why he was dropped - now he needs to go out and prove he is the good defender we know he is.
"And I am confident he will do exactly that if he keeps his feet on the ground, works hard and shows us all what he can do."
