Taylor's father acts as his agent, and he had a dig at the club for not offering the youngster a big pay rise when the new contract was put on the table.
But Allardyce was not going to have a gun put to his head, and although he has praised Taylor throughout the start to the season, he was quick to say "he is not the finished article and has a lot to learn" when Taylor senior went public with the story.
Sam insists contracts are deals are done behind closed doors, NOT in the back pages of the Evening Chronicle.
Taylor was again substitute on Monday evening, as Abdoulaye Faye and Cacapa performed wonders at the heart of the defence.
Faye today sang the praises of his defensive partner Cacapa after the Brazilian ace pipped him to his first Toon goal in the victory over Spurs.
The 29-year-old Senegal international had earlier watched his towering header crash off the Leazes End upright before his super flick-on for Cacapa allowed the South American to fire home a bullet header to help seal three points.
United's back four have looked solid since Cacapa and Faye were paired together against Everton in the last home game and once more the duo delivered against Tottenham.
Faye: "It was good to help Claudio score. I flicked the ball into his path from the corner from Emre and he scored. I was delighted for him.
"Cacapa is a good player for us this season.
"He is an intelligent guy and I like to work with him."
"It was a great win for us and for me personally to be in the team twice at St James's Park is excellent, I am very happy.
"When the ball came across I saw it heading for the goal and thought 'oh my god' because I thought I had scored my first goal for the club.
"But it wasn't to be for me and perhaps another day that will go in.
"I was just happy that we won the game and played some good football.
"The confidence is high in the team at the moment.
"We are aware that some things need to be worked on and we will do that.
"But overall, and seriously, we are all very happy."
