“I was more concerned about putting a performance in that he would have been proud of.
“Sir Bobby is the man who gave me my debut for Newcastle and did so much for this football club.
“We had to get it right from that point of view. We were there to do a job, and once the game kicked off, we put that to bed.
“We couldn’t let the occasion spoil our performance. We expected a tough game but the whole team did well.
“We looked after each other at the back.”
