Despite rumours of two Championship clubs ready to test the water with offers for Taylor, Hughton says the former Wigan defender/winger will get his “fair share” of first-team opportunities next season.
He dropped down to the Championship when Joe Kinnear signed the former Tranmere Rovers man in a swap deal for Charles N’Zogbia last year.
Hughton: “Ryan will get his fair share of chances. He missed out a bit in the second half of the season when Wayne Routledge came in.
“And he didn’t get the amount of games he probably wanted to get.
“When a team is winning it’s hard to make changes every time you pick the side.
“He’s a good player and has plenty of Premier League experience to boot.
“When he looks back on last season he played his part and in a big amount of the games.
“It’s not just about the starting XI, it’s a squad game and everybody knows they can’t play every game.”
