The 22-year-old midfielder joined Newcastle from Coventry in the summer of 2012 but a lack of first-team opportunities has seen him return to the Ricoh Arena on loan until January.
With competition for places at Newcastle fierce, Bigirimana is likely to struggle to make any headway in the North East and, considering his age, he must start looking at the bigger picture.
Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph, the youngster says his chances of staying with Newcastle are now slim and the thought of a permanent switch to Coventry is definitely appealing.
“At the moment the chances [of staying at Newcastle] seem less because it’s going to be three seasons now that I haven’t played even two games in a row for the first team,” Bigirimana added.
“But in football you never know. It all depends on the two clubs, whether the guys at Newcastle think they have me in their plan. It’s up to Coventry to convince them how much they want me to stay here.”
“I would love to build my career up again in the place I call home.”
