Crystal Palace are being linked with a surprise move for Newcastle central midfielder Jack Colback.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Eagles are among a host of clubs monitoring Colback’s situation at St James’ Park, with a January move away from Newcastle appearing to be a likely outcome.
Palace are already well stocked in the middle of the park but Roy Hodgson is looking to strengthen his side in the ongoing transfer window. Colback appears to be closing in on an exit from Newcastle and Palace are named as a club interested.
The former Sunderland man is deemed surplus to requirements by Rafa Benitez at Newcastle and he is likely to be available over the course of the next few weeks.
As stated by the Mirror, Colback is rated at just £3 million, which means that he would certainly be an affordable target for Roy Hodgson should he opt to make a move for the 28-year-old.
