Taylor has pledged his future to Newcastle United, despite interest from a host of Premier League rivals.
Queens Park Rangers and Crystal Palace are both rumoured to be monitoring the situation surrounding the 28-year-old, who managed just 10 Premier League appearances for the Magpies last term.
He is behind Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Fabricio Coloccini and Mike Williamson for a first-team place, there had been some speculation that Alan Pardew is wanting another central defender.
Steven Taylor: "I’m happy here ...This is my hometown club, and I’ve got two years left on my contract.
"I love it here. I’m enjoying my football and coming in with a smile on my face every day."
The 25-year-old’s wages have been a major stumbling block to any move, and it doesn't seem as though the player is going to budge.
But he was far from impressive in pre-season and Pardew would move him if only the player would take a drop in wages.
