So why IS David Beckham a wanted man ... even though his in the veteran stage of his career?
From effigies to eulogies the life of David Beckham has never been dull.
His defection to America was laughed at, because Posh lured him to the bright lights and no-one took him seriously after that.
Or so we thought, because suddenly he is a wanted man, even though he is only available for SIX WEEKS.
Beckham is getting itchy feet again, hankering for life back in Old Blighty.
But any return would likely be greeted with scepticism. He's lived the Hollywood life style and he will be cast as villain not hero if he opts to play in England again.
Having sustained a serious Achilles tendon injury during a second loan stint at the San Siro in March he managed just seven appearances for Galaxy.
His decision to move to LA at 31 after a troubled final season at Real Madrid was both premature and ill-advised but having made his pact with the devil-dollar he should fulfil his obligations at Galaxy. Seems only fair given the deal he signed there is worth a reported £128million.
The roadshow is coming to town and there will be no shortage of takers for a player in the twilight of his career.
Although having previously stated he could not contemplate playing for an English club other than Manchester United the early talk is that he is bound for White Hart Lane.
Let's hope its NOT Newcastle!
