Davide Santon is arguably better going forward than stay ''at home'' in the back line, and certainly a better winger than defender.
But how far do you push it?
James Tavernier was delighted to score a goal to help the Rotherham (where he is on loan) ease to victory over Shrewsbury Town last weekend.
And he goes as far as to say: "Every time I go up the pitch I try to get a goal and it''s like a bonus to score as a defender so I really felt happy when the ball went in the back of the net.
"It''s a great feeling when I score goals and assist others which is what I''m there to do.
"It was my second for the club and second in league football so hopefully I can go on and get more.
" I''m really enjoying it at the minute and it''s positive for myself and for the team that I can score goals.
"''I''m really enjoying my time here. I came here to play games and hopefully I can keep doing that and improving myself. And it''s good that Haris (Vuckic) is down here too and when we''re on the pitch together we can respond off each other.
"I`d like to stay here and I want to help Rotherham get promoted this season and we''re in a really good spot at the minute and hopefully we can push on."
