Canadian Under-21 international David Edgar is the latest of United's Youth side to be blooded by Glenn Roeder, due to Nobby Solano failing a late fitness test. The youngster fitted into the youngest Newcastle defence I can ever remember, and hopes he gets the call for the visit to Goodison Park.
He told the Chronicle: "I have to just wait to see if I will be involved against Everton. The call-up came through injury but I was really excited when the gaffer told me I was in the team. It would have been nice to get the win but I was really happy to make my debut - it was a big day for me.
"The football is a step up and the pace of the game is a lot different. It took me a while to get up with it and I thought I coped OK with it once I calmed down. It is just disappointing to lose the game."
"It looked like a push on Peter Ramage for the first goal and to be honest I thought I heard a whistle. But when I turned around it was a goal. Both goals were disappointing but for a young back four we did OK.
"It was a tough game to make your debut in because of the way Bolton play. But we handled them quite well."
