The 24-year-old met QPR manager Luigi De Canio and chairman Gianni Paladini last week to talk about a three year deal, but De Canio was axed yesterday by the Loftus Road club.
Despite the dismissal, it is thought the three-year deal could still be on the table ... but it depends who takes over as boss.
Ramage is also being pursued by his old boss Glenn Roeder, now manager at Norwich City, and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Obviously Ramage needs his position sorted as soon as possible, and the Norfolk club look to be favourites.
Ramage has made 68 appearances for Newcastle United.
