A double from ex-Newcastle players Ian Rush and Chris Waddle won the cup, and they were joined by Peter Beardsley, Gazza, John Barnes and David Batty who have all played for the Toon in their careers.
Rush open the scoring early in the match and the game was never in doubt.
"Monkey's Heed" was the manager of the winning team, saying he picked Chris Waddle as skipper "because he is a Geordie boy and I wanted the crowd on our side". Obviously he didn't know that Waddle has been a life-long SUNDERLAND fan.
