Ranger has caused fury among United fans after slating supporters on Twitter following pockets of booing during the 2-1 loss to Reading – and many Geordie followers feel he should be shown the door.
Ranger has done very little to improve his attitude despite being handed yet another chance at first-team level.
The Londoner hardly helped his cause by Tweeting negative comments about fans booing and his behaviour saw his stock dip to a new low among supporters.
With fans furious about the striker’s pathetic display against Brighton in the FA Cup after they travelled the length of the country to see an inept 2-0 defeat, Ranger has almost reached the end zone in his Toon career.
Barnsley – who have taken the striker on loan once – are understood to have made an inquiry to do the same again, according to sources at Oakwell.
MK Dons are also interested in the frontman and his idol Ian Wright, now striker coach at the club, is waiting to hand him the experience of a lifetime.
