The transfer window may have closed, but already the media are linking every player out of contract with a move to St James' Park.
The latest: "Newcastle have reportedly ruled out trying to sign Diego Tristan despite their striker shortage. Tristan is now looking for a new club after being released by Deportivo La Coruna. And following his departure from the Riazor, the 30-year-old former Spanish international was linked with a move to Tyneside."
But the Journal insist the Toon aren't interested. According to the Journal, the Magpies won't move for Tristan because they are worried about the reasons behind his release from Deportivo.
"Diego Tristan's name has not been mentioned and I don't think he is the type of player Newcastle United are looking for."
All in all ... another load of bollocks to sell newspapers.
