UEFA have responded to criticism of their ticket pricing for the 2011 Champions League final by reducing prices for this year's showpiece match in Munich, with the price of the cheapest tickets on general sale falling to 70 euros.
The organisation's president Michel Platini issued an apology for the 2011 pricing, which he described as "a mistake", and the Football Supporters Federation (FSF) have broadly welcomed the overall 2012 price list.
In total 42,000 tickets will be available to the public for the 62,500-capacity Allianz Arena in Munich, with 7,000 going on general sale from Thursday and a further 35,000 to be distributed evenly to the two clubs who reach the May 19 final.
UEFA have confirmed that there will be 13,000 tickets available in the 'category four' price bracket of 70 euros. These will cost 90 euros (around £75) in total for UK purchasers, because of a 20 euro booking and shipment fee.
Last year the cheapest tickets cost around £80 plus a booking fee and were only available to supporters of the finalists, with the cheapest general sale tickets costing £150 plus a booking fee.
UEFA were also criticised for the cost of the cheapest adult and child 'youth packages' they were offering, especially in view of the fact that the final had been moved to Saturdays from 2010 onwards in order to encourage more families to attend.
In 2011 the cost of one adult and one child buying a two-ticket category two youth package was £338, but this has now been slashed to £117 at current exchange rates. UEFA will make 400 of these packages available, 200 for general sale with a further 100 going to each of the finalists.
