The Dutch goalkeeper has been with the Bairns since the start of the campaign and is due to return to St James's Park on January 2.
Krul: "They will discuss my situation in the next few weeks.
"I told the board I am enjoying my spell in Scotland and would like to continue playing at the highest possible level.
"I am learning an awful lot. It is a great experience to develop myself, physically in particular. I pick up quite a few knocks at set pieces. I was pleasantly surprised by the standard in Scotland. I had been told all those kick-and-rush stories, but even the smaller clubs don't just kick the ball away, but try to find solutions football-wise.
"I am usually the busier goalkeeper. I may even have been tested too often in the first few games, when we were thrashed 4-1 and 7-2 by Celtic and Rangers respectively.
"They want to make me feel at home and be part of the squad.
"When you are on loan, you can quickly feel isolated from the other squad members. And it gives the goalkeeping coach an opportunity to see if I have made some progress.
"Sam Allardyce has not had a personal chat with me yet, but the coaching staff are content with my development."
