Kevin Nolan: "I was delighted by my first game, and I'm already looking forward to next season.
"I've not come here to try and tell all these players what to do. They're experienced enough and good enough to know what's needed to get out of this.
"Hopefully I can just be another cog in the working system. I've come here to make another step up and get this club back to where it belongs.
"I want to get back into Europe. I had two fantastic seasons at Bolton.
Toon Heading To Europe?
"That was a small club and they were great nights so I can't imagine what it would be like to have a European night here. That's where my energy and my drive is.
"Looking around the dressing room when I first walked in the other day it was, like, 'Bloody hell!' It's absolutely fantastic.
"But we've got to start working together and start working as a team. We've got 14 games left and we've got to make sure we're in this league next season, then try to get into the top 10 and into Europe.
"I thought the defence played really well on Sunday. Sebastien Bassong was class. He's been struggling with a problem in his ribs but he did really well.
"I was impressed with him against Sunderland, and with José Enrique going forward. Tayls won us the penalty, too, and he's a player who can be very influentiual for us."
