Newcastle United announced their latest pre-season friendly scheduled this summer, with the Magpies set for a trip to Scotland to face Hearts on Friday the 14th July (7.45pm kick off).
Hearts finished 5th in last season’s SPL and are managed by former Newcastle coach Ian Cathro, who swapped Tyneside for Tynecastle in December last year to pursue a career in management.
The trip to Hearts is our third pre-season friendly scheduled for July, and will take place on Friday 14th, prior to away matches at Preston North End on Saturday, 22nd July (3pm) and Bradford City on Wednesday, 26th July (7.30pm).
Newcastle’s trip to Hearts is our first visit to Scotland since our 1-1 draw against Rangers at Ibrox in August 2013’s pre-season friendly, and next month’s short trip north to the Edinburgh based side could be a popular one among the travelling Toon Army.
